Jewelry trends are fascinating to watch because they almost always start with the cheap stuff, the fashion jewelry made out of plated bronze and cheap stones etc., before fine jewelry takes note of the trend’s staying power and begins to incorporate the style elements into their gold and diamond offerings. As I was perusing some of my favorite designers to select my next Sunday Spotlight feature, I noticed that chains, especially over the knuckles to connect two or three separate rings, are popping up in the good stuff. I think I’m in favor – I like the idea of adornment on as much of the finger real estate as possible, without resorting to creepy full finger armor. Check out a few of these designs from Djula and Etho, currently on offer at Fragments:
The delicacy of these chains are a nice complement to the delicacy of the tiny prong set diamonds. Even though chains are typically a little ‘punk-y,’ these designs are fluid and elegant. I also think delicate chains make for excellent contrast in some of the chunkier styles, like these by Mania Mania at Love Adorned:
I’ll be featuring a couple of these designers in more depth coming up, so this is a nice teaser. After all, if Rihanna is a fan, it must be legit, right? ๐
Thanks Sarah. I never would have known knuckle chains are cool if it was not for you. Thanks for keeping me current on fashion.
