Sunday Spotlight: Orly Wexler

Colorful gemstones, 24KT gold, and….rubber? Rubber indeed. Meet Orly Wexler, an Israeli jewelry designer whose background in industrial and graphic design is evident in her handsome, exotic, and structural pieces of jewelry. I encountered Orly’s work in the gift shop at the Museum of Arts and Design, which is perhaps the most appropriate venue to experience her work.

I really appreciate the mixture of raw looking metal, colorful gemstones, and smooth industrial rubber. It is simultaneously modern and mystical. Check out what she does with pearls:

And, perhaps the best charm bracelets I’ve seen in a while:

Orly’s work can be seen in person at the WONDERFUL Museum of Arts and Design, or on her minimalist website here. Check out her work – and get on board with rubber!
