Accessible Custom Beauty

Many people are under the impression that custom jewelry is reserved for individuals with truckloads of money who opt for custom designs because they have time and funds to spare in the pursuit of jewelry that is designed solely for them. This is absolutely not the case (although, if you know anyone like that, please be sure to send them my way). A lot of the engagement rings I craft are close or distant versions of rings that exist in current retail outlets, rings that don’t quite match my client’s specifications on an aesthetic or financial level.

Such was the case with this project. This future fiancé had given the object of her affections several images of options that she liked…sort of. The perfect halo here, the better side stones there, but without all the extra stuff, and if it could only be daintier… And so it was with this collection of comments that we created the final amalgamation:

The most similar retail option featured a ton of millegrain on the gallery, with several dainty stones set into the side of the band. Some people are really into that kind of thing… I frankly would prefer to not pay for diamonds no one will ever see. I think this is a great compromise.

The moral of the story is that custom jewelry is a great way to get exactly what you want (without paying for a full retail markup to boot)! It’s the best of all worlds.
